Printer Modifications

Check out the various mods and upgrades possible with your printer

While there are many modifications one can make to their Deltaprintr, we’ve collected some of our favorites here that we think would be beneficial to those that would like to upgrade or improve their printer.

Hotend Cooling Fan Attachment

A hotend fan helps keep your hotend cool so that you have a sharp heat transition from hot to cold. This modification helps improve print speed.

Items you will need:
40mm fan
2 long wires

Simply snap the fan attachment onto the platform’s traxxas joints and connect the fan’s two wires to the screw terminal block located right next to the power jack on your electronics board. Make sure the red fan wire connects to the + terminal and the other to the -.

Print Cooling Fan Attachment

A cooling fan helps cool your prints so that the plastic solidifies as soon as it comes out the hotend. This improves print quality and allows you to print at a finer resolution.

Items you will need:
40mm fan
2 long wires

Simply snap the fan attachment onto the platform’s traxxas joints and connect the fan’s two wires to the screw terminal block that is labeled as “Hotend 2” located right next to where your current hotend wires are connected. Make sure that the fan is enabled in your Cura/Repetier Host settings. It’s best to keep the fan off (in settings) while the first layer is printing and turn it on after the second layer starts printing. This allows the first layer to stick better. If the fan blows on the first layer, the layer may not stick well because it will cool down too fast.
